okay, i'm a little late but, happy new year everyone! one year ago, i was a little apprehensive about how 2006 would turn out. i wondered if i would adjust well to a new school and a new church. well, my life last year certainly wasn't a bed of roses, but the whole journey was a great experience. everything turned out very well in the end.
2006 was a great blessing for me. at the beginning of 2006, God gave me the verse from Matthew 6:33 -
'but seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well'. this verse means so much to me... it kept me going, looking to God every step of the way... even when i was so down; when i cried out to God because i didn't understand why.
there were many things i didn't understand... why i had to give them up, or why i didn't get them. it was hard to let go. but throughout the year, God kept reassuring me and reminding me of His promises. i learnt to be more reliant on God and allow Him to work in my life in His perfect timing.
it was only in the later half of the year that i really saw God's promises come true, and began to realise how wonderfully God planned everything that happened. God let me be in guitar exco, gave me good results, gave me the chance to be an ogl, answered my prayers for my class and for guitar, and did so many other great things...
i read this verse during quiet time a few days ago... isaiah 28:16 -
'the one who trusts will never be dismayed'. God is so amazing!
i'm looking forward to 2007! i trust that God has a wonderful path in store for me, for all things work for the good of those who love Him.
